| Part of the Druids Glen Golf Resort, the Druids Glen Marriott Hotel is ideally located but 30 minutes to the south of Dublin in County Wicklow, nestled between the Irish Sea and the brilliant Wicklow mountains. The Dublin Airport is a hour forth by car. The three-storey Marriott features 148 well-appointed guestrooms including 11 suites. The hotel too provides a 18-meter inside swimming pool, full-service health spa, and seven meeting rooms to fit up to 130 people. The hotel houses two restaurants and a bar: the Druids Restaurant featuring international cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner; Flynn's Steakhouse serving premier Irish steaks for dinner but; and The Thirteenth Bar, which overlooks the golf course. Beyond the outstanding accommodations, the primary attraction at the Druids is the golf courses: the parkland Druids Glen Course, and the Druids Heath championship course. Known as "the Augusta of Europe," the parkland Druids Glen golf course was designed by Pat Ruddy and Tom Craddock and has been home to the Irish Open from 1996-99. A complete contrast in design, the Druids Heath is an ambitious course and offers golfers dramatic views of the mountains, sea and Irish countryside. The Druids Resort too includes a historical clubhouse, the Woodstock House. Dating back over 400 years, the clubhouse is filled with memorabilia from late owners including the ill-famed Lord Tottenham. The clubhouse includes meeting rooms, dining facilities and a pro shop. For those not interested in golf, the Druids Glen Marriott Hotel serves as an ideal base to research County Wicklow, the "Garden of Ireland.". Nearby activities includes hiking, angling, horse riding, cycling and rock climbing.
